Shoku Ramen-ya, Bachi Burger, and Blue Sea Sushi & Izakaya all shuttered earlier this year at the southeast’s Windmill Lane Plaza, but the retail hub is making up for the loss with five new casual dining options expected to debut before the end of the year.
The latest tenant to join the changes will be Rivas Mexican Grill, creators of the self-described “best steak fries in town” and its familiar menu of “always fresh” choices, including menudo and pozole. Yet to announce the expansion, Rivas recently debuted in Carson City and will next open in the southwest at 5660 Hualapai Way, a short walk from the under construction Bruges Waffles & Frites.
Also on the way, a new Domino’s Pizza outpost, plus Opulicious Poke’s Samoan-inspired menu imported from its current home in Waianae, on the far west side of Hawaii.
Replacing Bachi Burger will be the first Nevada restaurant for Houston’s Juicy Burgers, featuring “America’s burger,” beef, chicken breast, or “veggie garden” patties and toppings that can be customized by each customer.
First to debut will be Hidaka Sushi, located next door to Level Up Nitro Creamery & Boba and overseen by chef and owner Nakamura Takashi, who continues to operate his successful, four-year old Sushi Takashi in Chinatown. New signage and much of Hidaka’s interior furnishings are already in place.
