The southwest’s Jjanga Steak & Sushi is expanding once again, but this time has skipped Chinatown for its next location and will instead bring its playful sushi creations to the eastside.
Moving into suite C at 280 E. Flamingo Road, the retail strip’s previous tenant Chabi Japanese Cafe shuttered early this year, lasting barely two months. The 1,872-square-foot Chabi also featured a small outdoor patio. The four-year old original Jjanga site, close to the intersection of Fort Apache Road and Patrick Lane, also offers outdoor dining.
Yet to announce the expansion, or a possible opening date, the new space will change the restaurant name, dropping the reference to its hibachi prepared steak and is currently calling itself Jjanga Sushi & Bar on recent paperwork.
The parent company debuted Hanu Korean BBQ on Spring Mountain Road last fall.
In the southwest, Jjanga diners can order sushi burritos, all-you-can-eat options, skewers and hot stone plates, specialty rolls, sushi pizza, and a current favorite, sushi burgers made with panko crusted rice buns.
