Florida’s Player 1 Video Game Bar plans to test the operations of its first out-of-state expansion this weekend, giving eastside fans of cosplay, video games, and craft beer an early look at the gamer lounge.
The lounge announces each day’s hours on its Facebook page, and the current 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. schedule will eventually grow to a 24-hour operation at the Sunrise City Plaza retail center, close to the intersection of Maryland Parkway and Karen Avenue.
Once customers pay a cover charge, they gain access to unlimited plays on its classic arcade cabinets, as well as a large variety of consoles from every era.
Behind the bar, the adults only space offers 50 beers on tap and more than 150 in bottles, with a collection of martinis as the house cocktail. Soda and draft root beer will also be available, served by staff encouraged to dress as their favorite video game avatars.
