Not projected to be ready until the cooler temperatures of fall, visitors looking to beat the heat while walking The Linq Promenade later this year will be able to duck into the very chilled icebar lounge.
Created by the same team behind the Minus5° Ice Experience at Mandalay Bay and the Venetian, for construction costs alone, Icebar has already allocated an estimated $750,000 to create its frozen world.
Set to take over a still functioning business, Icebar will move into a prominent, easy to spot space, close to the Brooklyn Bowl venue.
This location is expected to be similar in approach to the smaller Grand Canal Shoppes expansion. After paying an entrance fee, customers will enter a bar created out of genuine Canadian ice, including the walls, seats and drinking glasses.
After the loan of parkas, or faux fur coats, customers can order professionally staged photographs of their visit, while drinking cocktails such as the vodka-based “Icy Mudslide,” rum-flavored “Arctic Sunset,” and a very chilled Old Fashioned.
Yet to be announced by the resort, future opening hours have also not been revealed.
