Mountain’s Edge Marketplace may still be under construction, but is quickly become a dining focal point for the entire far southwest neighborhood. Locale Italian Kitchen has already debuted, Jie Ramen and Boran Thai Kitchen are on the way and newcomer Bluebei Sushi & Grill is now open seven days a week.
Located close to the intersection of Blue Diamond Road and Buffalo Drive, Bluebei Sushi moves into the same building as Burgerim and the future home of L&L Hawaiian Barbecue.
Diners can sit at the sushi bar or within the main dining room for lunch and dinner, offering bento boxes, sushi rolls, sashimi, and rice bowl specials for early arrivals until 3 p.m.
The restaurant offers sushi and sashimi combinations, including a $27.95 deal featuring six pieces of sashimi and a “chef’s choice” of seven kinds of nigiri sushi, as well as classic choices of beef teriyaki, tonkatsu, fish katsu, ramen, udon, and yakisoba.
Alongside a large collection of maki, temaki, fried, baked, and teriyaki rolls, house creations include the $12.95 crab meat “Jack Pot,” finished with spicy poke on the outside. Diners can also order small plates of vegetable dishes, tempura seafood, spicy sesame chicken, octopus, and yellowtail from the raw bar.
Bluebei Sushi & Grill, 7825 Blue Diamond Road, #106, 702-384-0275. Open daily from 11.30 a.m. to 10.30 p.m., and closing at 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
