Chef Kenny Chye launched Las Vegas’ first drive-thru, vegan fast-food restaurant back in 2016, but now Chye confirms that Vegeway closed, and he already has plans for a new restaurant in the works.
Replacing the former 1,895-square-foot Great American Food sandwich shop at the corner of Jones Boulevard and Robindale Road, Chye announced local institution Roberto’s Taco Shop has bought the “building and the business.”
Vegeway’s initial rush of success serving veggie burgers, fish tacos, burrito wraps, fries, and vegan milkshakes led to a Centennial expansion in 2017. That closed to make way for Blinder’s Burgers & Brunch, now Vegan Bliss.
A few months later, Chef Kenny’s Asian Vegan Restaurant debuted in Chinatown, an inspiration for his next project planned for Henderson. An exact location, or estimated opening date have yet to be announced.
