Already one of the most-anticipated arrivals of next year, the 25th expansion of Hawaiian casual-dining legend Zippy’s is officially on track for its 2020 debut in the southwest.
Company president Paul Yokota shared with Midweek reporter Carol Chang the combination 7,000-square-foot restaurant, take-out, and retail bakery is now scheduled for a “third-quarter opening,” usually defined as between July 1 and Sept. 30.
Commenting on the currently empty plot of land at the the southeast corner of Badura Avenue and Montessouri Street, near Rainbow Boulevard, Yokata revealed, “We’re contracting with the architect and kitchen designer and waiting to sign for construction on the large site.”
The huge facility will also include an additional 12,000-square-foot central kitchen and bakery, confirmed “to support (more Zippy’s) in other parts of Las Vegas.”
Created in 1966, Zippy’s has evolved into a go-to destination for plate meals, the Zip Pac, created with fried chicken, hoki fish, teriyaki beef, and Spam served over rice, and its bestselling chili.
