From the Arts District, to Desert Shores and Lake Las Vegas, chef Beni Velazquez’s dining ventures have bounced him around the region, and his next project has sent him to the eastside and an Asian fusion and pan-Latin menu.
Taking over 1,080 square feet at the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Pecos Road, ChinaLatina replaces the shuttered Mexicali Raspados, next door to Pancho’s Vegan Tacos.
Promised to be coming soon, but yet to reveal a timetable for opening day, a previewed menu hints Velazquez is aiming for maximum flavor at affordable prices with the current most expensive dish, the Latin garlic lobster served in a Spanish sherry soy garlic sauce, set to be priced at $21.
True to its fusion message, planned creations include Kung Pao shrimp taco, the lechon Cu-banh mi sandwich, roasted sweet banana in a honey guava teriyaki sauce, plus boba drinks, coffee, teas, and smoothies.
Future opening hours have yet to be announced.
