A short walk down Pacific Avenue from Water Street, a new breakfast-and-lunch restaurant promises “fresh home style food made with love.”
The Pacific Diner has moved into the roomy corner space at the Pacific Center retail strip, previously home to Tio Julios, the Islander’s Grill, and a few steps from the eight-year old Rose Garden Chinese Restaurant.
The restaurant sports a vintage Pacific Railroad train on its logo design, and renovated the diner space into a casual American restaurant.
On the menu of familiar favorites, egg dishes served with seasoned potatoes or hash browns; Denver, California, Western, and veggie options among the omelets; burritos and scrambles; waffles and short stacks; plus loco moco and an island breakfast served with white rice and a choice of Spam or Portuguese sausage.
For lunch, burgers, salads, and chili join a collection of sandwiches including a French dip, the diner's spin on a Reuben, a Philly steak, and a tuna melt.
Pacific Diner, 18 W. Pacific Ave., Henderson, 702-330-0180. Open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
