Andiron Steak & Sea, the steakhouse and seafood restaurant from Elizabeth Blau and Kim Canteenwalla at Downtown Summerlin, closes this weekend for a refresh, a new focus, and a new chef and partner.
After brunch on Sunday, Aug. 25, the restaurant closes for what Blau says will be a remodel that includes a larger bar area. The restaurant plans to focus on the steakhouse side of the business, with an interior that may become a bit more masculine. Right now, Blau says she’s finalizing the design permits, and hopes the renovations only take a few months.
“We’re so happy to announce that Andiron will be closing at the end of August for an extensive and exciting renovation,” the restaurant wrote in a press statement. “Over the next few months, Andiron will undergo a fabulous refresh from top to bottom. We can’t wait to re-open our doors to the community with an enhanced restaurant experience! We are so grateful to our beloved Las Vegas family for all your loyalty and support. Our last service will be Brunch this Sunday, August 25. Come see us this week before construction gets underway!!”
Brian Massie comes on board as the new chef/operating partner. Massie was a partner in Clique Hospitality, opening restaurants such as Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar at Red Rock Resort and Borracha Mexican Cantina and Bottiglia at Green Valley Ranch before leaving last year to start up his own hospitality company. Before that, he created Fix at Bellagio, Stack at the Mirage, and Diablo’s Cantina when it was located in front of the Monte Carlo.
Andiron opened in 2014 on the northern end of Downtown Summerlin and won Eater Vegas’ Restaurant of the Year and Canteenwalla won Chef of the Year in the 2015 Eater Awards.
