The James Bond-inspired Vesper Bar, one of three cocktail venues to debut at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas when it opened back in 2010, filed paperwork for a major remodel of the 24-hour lounge located a few steps from the hotel lobby.
Yet to announce the upgrades, or if the work will create a temporary closure, early filings estimate construction work alone will cost $800,000 to overhaul the space, including adding new carpet and furniture, replacing the pearl white bar top, and changing out the face of the bar.
Current papers make no mention of adding gaming machines, or altering the mirrored tiles, the dramatic overhead lighting scheme, or the name of the bar.
Named after the drink Ian Fleming created for his 007 agent in the 1953 novel Casino Royale, the bar serves a collection of classic creations and contemporary spins on old favorites, dubbed “Vesper Interpretations,” plus a series of highly regarded whisky cocktails.
