A westside European bakery just went through a renovation that brings a more airy look, updating the redesigned dining room and outside patio. La Belle Terre Bakery & Cafe, owned by Bachir and Sandra Aboujaoude, brings breakfast, lunch, and dessert dishes to the table. The couple, Bachir from Lebanon and Sandra from Bosnia, created a bakery that reminds them of the cafes they knew from their youth.
Baked goods, of course, make up the heart of the location, with collections of chocolate and almond croissants; cheese, apricot and cherry danishes; cinnamon, raisin and pistachio rolls; and cakes by the slice or pre-ordered whole. The couple invested heavily in kitchen equipment to keep up with demand. Bagels and artisan breads in rye, sourdough, and a French baguette are baked daily.
Turkish coffee, white chocolate mocha, cafe au last, chai tea lattes, iced frappes, and brulée caramel coffee go along with the pastries.
For breakfast, the bakery now serves dishes such eggs Benedict, a chocolate banana French toast with Nutella, a Montmartre crepe with chicken and Swiss cheese, strawberry banana crepe, soufflés, and quiches,
Lunch rolls out a roster of French onion soup topped with a melted blend of cheese and croutons; Croque Monsieur with ham, Swiss cheese, Dijon mustard, and béchamel sauce; Vol Au Vent with chicken, mushroom, béchamel sauce on puff pastry; a Montecristo featuring French toast filled with ham, Swiss cheese, and a side of cranberry sauce; a Caprese panini; and a chicken alfredo panini.
The bakery is open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
