The self-proclaimed “largest selection of vegan tacos in the universe” is headed to the Arts District.
Tacotarian launched a year ago at Spring Valley’s Lynden Square retail center and will triple in size when it expands its vegan Mexican eatery to 1130 S. Casino Center Blvd.
The restaurant sits a short walk down the block from Vesta Coffee Roasters in a 3,325-square-foot space. Tacotarian also hopes to add an 840-square-foot outdoor patio, a big upgrade from the 1,440-square-foot counter-service original in Spring Valley.
Partners Dan and Regina Simmons and Carlos and Kristen Corral created the restaurant with a menu from executive chef John Simmons of Firefly Tapas Kitchen & Bar and the meat-inclusive options at Tacos & Beer on Paradise Road.
In the southwest, Tacotarian’s two dozen tacos choices are joined by Mexico City-inspired spins on flautas, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, soups, salads, elotes, and desserts including coconut cake and arroz con leche.
Yet to announce the move, or a projected opening date, the large space is currently an empty shell ready for remodeling.
