Las Vegas finally joins the ranks of San Diego, Atlanta, Chicago, and Montreal with a cat cafe to call its own.

Rescued Treasures Cat Cafe opens on Tuesday with a small roster of kittens for playing and adopting pleasure. Kittens on hand include Opal, a calico; Peter and Benjamin, orange tabbies with white markings; Jewel with brown and orange tabby markings on white; and Diamond with black and a little orange.

The cat cafe, from PALNV, houses the cats, and the organization feeds and cares for the kittens until they find a new home.

Visitors can play with the cats and eat a beverage or snack for $10 for one hour, or $14 for 90 minutes. Fans can buy memberships for $10 a month for four sessions a year with a guest up to $1,200 a year for 12 sessions with seven guests.

Every Wednesday for $15 from 7 to 9 p.m., the cat cafe offers a different type of bonding session with free soda, coffee, tea, or water, snack, and free WiFi. Aug. 7 brings crafts with cats. Aug. 14 offers a chess match, and game night featuring Battleship, checkers, poker, Jumanji, Trivial Pursuit, and card games takes place on Aug. 21. Yoga, starting at 7:30 p.m. for $30 for 45 minutes, runs on Aug. 28.

Meow or Never planned to open in the Arts District last year but scrapped those plans.

Rescued Treasures Cat Cafe, 4155 N. Rancho Drive, 702-629-6351. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. Events take place on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m.
