Sixth + Mill Pizzeria & Bar, the new Italian restaurant from Matteo Ferdinandi and chef Angelo Auriana of The Factory Kitchen at the Venetian, brings the patio feel to the indoors in its new location at the Grand Canal Shoppes, sitting on the replica of St. Marks Square.
Thomas Schlesser of New York’s Design Bureau created the design of this space with its subtle nod to the Gulf of Naples and Southern Italy. The sky overhead — a painting, of course — sets the tone for the space filled with blue chairs, water glasses, and napkins on an open patio, a feeling reminiscent of the blue skies and waters of Naples. At the back of the space, an 18-seat bar with a white marble countertop and light wood arches. Two white-tiled Mario Acunto pizza ovens take care of the main attraction — the pizzas — at the restaurant.
