Seven months after its first reveal, the Arts District’s Garagiste Wine Room & Merchant now predicts a fall debut at the intersection of California Avenue and Casino Casino Center Boulevard.
The combination urban lounge and retail outlet started work to transform the empty 2,157-square-foot space, creating enough room for 16 at the bar and 40 more in the lounge, surrounded by an inner-city look described as “warm woods, leathers juxtaposed with metal framed shelving.”
Mario Enriquez, a sommelier at Joël Robuchon and Eric Prato, head sommelier at Bouchon cited Bank Atcharawan and his Chinatown restaurant Lamaii “for inspiration and proving quality, affordable wine lists can exist off-Strip.”
Original plans called for a private tasting room and an inventory of rare wines, but no kitchen. The original permit submitted to the city included the possibility of outdoor seating on Casino Center.
