The Southern Nevada Health District closed the dish machine area at Citizens Kitchen & Bar at Mandalay Bay after finding a multi-generational roach infestation behind the dish washing machine in the prep area on December 4. Inspectors also found multiple fruit flies, water on the floor, and food debris on the floor under the machine. The restaurant returned to a zero-demerit A grade on December 6.
The health department shut down the snack bar at Round1 Bowling & Amusement at Meadows Mall on December 2 after finding the facility didn’t have hot water. Round 1 was back to a three-demerit A grade on December 4.
The health department also closed the McDonald’s in the Meadows Mall food court December 2 after inspectors investigated a customer complaint. The customer reported that the restaurant served bagged apples that were expired, a complaint validated by the inspector, who shut down the restaurant after finding there was no working hand sink. The broken sink was filled with dirty water. The location re-opened the same day with a three-demerit A grade.
The health department also closed Prisma food truck on December 8 when the inspectors found it had no hot water during an inspection at Craig Ranch Regional Park. The food truck remains closed.
The health district conducts unannounced inspections at least once a year. Inspections are posted online about five days after the inspection. The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
