The Golden Nugget reopened Grotto Italian Ristorante, only in a new space. The restaurant takes over the former Lillie’s Asian Cuisine space in the Carson Tower.
The menu includes house-made meatballs, pizza, and pasta dishes, such as carbonara with pancetta and wild mushrooms, lasagne al forno with beef Bolognese, cavatelli with Italian sausage, and homemade roasted chicken ravioli. Veal kickerillo, prawn diavolo, bistecca pizzaioli, salmon salento with crab meat, and steak tagliata round out the entrees.
The restaurant also has a happy hour every Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. and again on Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 p.m. to midnight in the bar area. Bites include stuffed mushrooms, shrimp cocktail, meatballs, calamari, artichoke and spinach dip, arancini, and zucchini crisps. Draft beers go for $5, wine $6, and some cocktails and sangria are $8.
Landry’s own Saltgrass Steak House restaurant is also on the way, a 6,180-square-foot addition to the chain’s more than 80 locations, serving chicken, seafood, char-grilled beef, and 10-hour, slow-roasted prime rib. The restaurant expanded to the Golden Nugget Laughlin back in 2010.
Grotto Italian Ristorante, Golden Nugget, 129 Fremont St., 702-386-8341. Open daily from 4 p.m. to midnight.
