In a very rare case of Hawaiian Marketplace tenant making a jump to a major Strip resort, unique all-in-one steak and seafood restaurant Chew & Chug is headed north into a much higher profile space at the Venetian.
Launched in May 2018 and shuttering late last year, the house specialty was the custom container featuring a drink cup base, holders for a straw and utensils, and room on top for its Korean-American menu featuring rib-eye, tenderloin, onion rings, fries, tofu, shrimp, salmon, and scallops.
Still to announce its move to the resort, Chew & Chug is projecting a May debut for its new location. Recently filed paperwork allocated an estimated construction budget of $90,000 for the build, strongly suggesting it will be moving into a former fast-casual spot, most likely inside the food court.
The Hawaiian Marketplace walk-up counter was previously occupied by China Max and Chicken Now and sat a few steps from the outdoor mall’s most recent arrival, Chicks & Butts BBQ.
Originally open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Chew & Chug customers chose their cooked-to-order proteins, added sides including a fried egg or mozzarella sticks, and colorful drink choices of red wine, Blue Powerade, and pink lemonade, all delivered in the easy to eat and walk container.
