Two new barbecue pop-ups bring smoked meats to the Eastside and the Arts District.
Naked City Pizza on Paradise Road now features Queen City BBQ, a hat tip to owner Christopher Palmeri’s Buffalo, New York, roots. Every Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., customers can order meats smoked over walnut and pecan.
Options include pulled pork, Black Angus brisket, beef ribs, turkey breast, St. Louis pork spare ribs, and cheddar jalapeño smoked sausage. A Queen City sandwich features a choice of meat. Sides include collard greens, deviled egg potato salad, Cajun fries, mac and cheese, baked beans, a smoked elote bowl, and loaded mashed potatoes.
Diners can order in advance online and select pickup or delivery from the Naked City outpost at 4608 Paradise Road.
In the Arts District, Braeswood BBQ brings Tex Mex barbecue with a food truck that pops up until the restaurant opens in the Arts District this fall.
Lately, the food truck parks at Beer District Brewing in the Arts District or Bad Beat Brewing in Henderson until it can open at 1504 S. Main St., next to the upcoming Western-themed speakeasy, the Horse Trailer Hideout, and the neighborhood’s first planned sports tavern.
Options include baby back ribs, brisket tacos, spare ribs, a smokehouse burger, and sides such as cornbread and mac and cheese. Shrimp and grits, a fajita, and aqua fresca and sweet tea round out the menu. Follow Braeswood on Facebook for the next stop.
