Corner Bar Management, the company behind Oddwood with its LED-laden tree at the base of the bar at Area15, opens Museum Fiasco on November 13.
The anchor for the new 5,000-square-foot space — “Cluster,” an installation by Playmodes Studio that will run through 2022. The large-scale audio-visual experience combines lights and music that strobe to change the look of the room as they tell a story. Think of it as a 360-degree experience that “explores the chaotic feeling of being inside the kernel of a glitchy computer processor.”
The museum takes over the mezzanine level of the venue.
Museum Fiasco marks the fourth new venue that Corner Bar Management opened during the coronavirus pandemic. The mezcal and tequila retreat Lucky Day Tequila & Mezcal House and the techno beats of Discopussy opened on Fremont East in July, while LED-lit Oddwood debuted in September at Area15. Corner Bar also owns Park on Fremont, Commonwealth, and Joy of Hot Dog on Fremont East. In 2021, the company plans to open We All Scream with a two-story nightclub with a back patio and rooftop space and a small ice cream parlor at the front, and Cheapshot with a rowdy vaudeville showroom with seating for 99 and two shows a night, open in spring 2021.
