One of the Strip’s most talented pastry chefs headed west from Las Vegas Boulevard for his latest passion project, launching the Burgundy French Bakery Cafe & Bistro at Village Square.
Moving into a 1,800-square-foot corner space, formerly occupied by a Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Florent Cheveau’s impressive credentials include time spent as pastry chef at Aria’s Jean Philippe Patisserie, a promotion to executive pastry chef at the MGM Grand, and the 2018 USA title holder of World Chocolate Master.
Serving a mix of sweet and savory dishes surrounded by artwork, posters, and French newspaper motifs reflecting Cheveau’s Burgundy roots, the evolving menu includes breakfast and lunch choices, plus rows of enticing desserts.
For breakfast, the bistro serves croissants, beignets, honey Greek yogurt, breakfast sandwiches, savory Danishes, and a frittata dish. During lunch, the menu expands to a range of crepes, ham and cheese, or turkey croissant sandwiches, plus hot selections featuring a croque-monsieur and quiche Lorraine.
Accompanying coffees, teas, and hot chocolate, the dessert selections include madelines, macarons, sweet crepes, ice cream, a Napoleon, eclairs, flans, and tart or cake slices.
Burgundy French Bakery Cafe & Bistro, 9440 W. Sahara Avenue, Suite 105. Open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m and closing at 2 p.m. on Sundays.
