Flock & Fowl, the restaurant that specializes in Hainan chicken rice from two-time James Beard Foundation semi-finalist for Best Chef West Sheridan Su and his wife Jenny Wong, closes on November 22. The couple says they will keep the Fremont East space at the base of the Ogden to open a new restaurant.
“They say all good things must come to an end, but sometimes good things become better things. Since we came back after quarantine in May, we’ve been slowly evolving into what our new vision for Flock & Fowl is. But that new vision, is not Flock & Fowl,” the couple writes on Instagram. “Our new place will be a complete departure in name, and style, but not soul. So don’t worry, because the same team that has kept Flock & Fowl going through these difficult times will still be here, (at the same location!) when our doors re-open.”
Flock & Fowl, a member of the Eater 38, originally opened in 2015 on Sahara Avenue near the Golden Steer, and then moved to Downtown Las Vegas in 2017.
The couple continues to run Fat Choy at the Eureka Casino on Sahara Avenue and Every Grain, a restaurant specializing in food inspired by grandmother’s Taiwanese food. Braised minced pork rice is the specialty here.
Update: Tyler Wilhite, the manager of Flock & Fowl, says Su and Wong “have not been a part of Flock & Fowl for some time now.” Owner JB Bagley “stepped in to take over complete operations of Flock & Fowl. The new place will be JB’s solo project apart from Jenny and Sheridan, so they will have no part in it.”
