Outrageous dessert are nothing new at Tao Asian Bistro and Lavo Italian Restaurant. Tao at the Venetian already has its enormous fortune cookie and Lavo at the Palazzo introduced interactive desserts such as the Tartufo Fantasia, a flaming Neapolitan gelato cake, over the summer. Now both restaurants have new holiday desserts only available in December.
Tao’s fortune cookie gets jazzed up with holiday decor. A drizzle of white chocolate and sprinkles with sugar snowflakes coats the fortune cookie, still oversized and now filled with white and dark chocolate mousses and served with seasonal fruit.
Over at Lavo, a new 20-layer cake features red velvet cake smothered with cream cheese filling, topped with sugar snowflakes and chocolate jingle bells. And the flaming tartufo now comes with whipped cream and strawberries, covered with a Valrhona white chocolate shell in the shape of a Christmas tree ornament unveiled with a flaming pour set afire table side.
