Texas-born Galpao Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse takes over prime space at Fashion Show, sitting at the front of the shopping mall next to Benihana: Sushi & Japanese Steakhouse.
The restaurant takes over the 8,787-square-foot former home of Kona Grill with a salad bar, roaming servers presenting 17 cuts of meat sliced from skewers, and a roster of desserts for lunch and dinner.
Diners can start at the 40-item salad bar that features hearts of palm, artichoke hearts, beets, asparagus, cheeses, and cured meats. The meats includes cuts of top sirloin, filet mignon, picanha, and grilled salmon, plus garlic mashed potatoes, caramelized bananas, rice and black beans side dishes. For dessert, customers can request crème brûlée, Brazilian flan, and molten chocolate cake.
Lunch goes for $38.95 and dinner is $59.95. Children 3 and under are free, ages 4 to 6 are $6, and children 7 to 11 get 50 percent off the meal price.
Galpão Gaucho launched in 2014 and now operates a portfolio of five restaurants in California; Charleston, South Carolina; and San Antonio.
