Almost immediately after Harold’s Chicken Shack revealed that “the fried chicken king” of Chicago planned to return to Las Vegas, questions were raised back in Illinois if the new operators had secured all the necessary permissions to import the brand to the southeast.
Those legal queries appear to have been resolved and instead of Harold’s famed chicken mix dinners, newcomer Chicago’s 6 Wings will now take its place and debut its own recipe blend before the end of February.
Taking over a 1,750-square-foot corner plot at the Windmill Retail Plaza, close to the intersection with Bermuda Road, the future home of wings, fries, and special sauce replaces the shuttered Joe Maxx Coffee Company outpost.
Opening hours and a full menu have not been announced, and no word if the space will make use of the existing drive-thru window.
Also on the way, a few steps to the west, chef Tracy Ritani is moving closer to a launch of her New Zealand-inspired Brunch & Bagels, located next door to a recently opened Rivas Mexican Grill expansion.
Ritani, who most recently worked at Hexx Kitchen + Bar on the Strip and Downtown's 7th & Carson, will feature dishes influenced by her Kiwi roots, plus gluten-free and vegan choices.
Already promised for the menu, burrata posh toast scones, meat pies, breakfast steaks, and an eggs Benedict served on a potato waffle served daily from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
