LOS ANGELES — Akira Back continues his hot streak of opening new restaurants with ABSteak opening at the Beverly Center. The chef behind Yellowtail at the Bellagio and Kumi at Mandalay Bay now has a a modern steakhouse vibe with Korean influences and dozens of steaks. Back tapped former Top Chef contestant Brian Huskey to head up the kitchen that serves cuts such as a 30-day Flannery bone-in prime and a 60-day whiskey-aged prime rib-eye steak. Pacific shrimp with gochujang, an uni-topped marinated shrimp over smoked sweet potato foam, and Korean bossam with pork belly help diners get started with their meals. Back originally opened ABSteak in Jakarta in 2017, and plans to open more locations in San Francisco, Boston, and Dallas. [Eater LA]
