THE STRIP — Dream Hotel plans to build a new resort on the south end of the Strip with 21 floors, 450 rooms, and restaurants and bars. Dream Hotel Group teamed up with Countor and Shopoff Realty Investments to build the new property at 5051 Las Vegas Boulevard S. on a 5.25-acre plot south of Mandalay Bay and across from Bali Hai Golf Club, near the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign. The resort, which plans to break ground in 2021, includes meeting and event space, a rooftop pool deck, and a gaming floor when it opens in 2023. The proposed hotel features a bar and lounge, three restaurants, two more lounges on the gaming floor, and a grab-and-go cafe on the street level. At the Dream Hotel in New York, Tao Group runs Bodega Negra, a Mexican restaurant, and in Hollywood, the Dream Hotel includes Beauty & Essex and Tao Asian Bistro from Tao Group, but the company says it is not involved in the Las Vegas project. PARK MGM — Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto kicks off a new monthly guest chef series at Manzo, the steakhouse inside Eataly, on March 5. The series plans to bring in chefs from Las Vegas restaurants who will make a dish using traditional Italian ingredients paired with their own culinary twist, made in collaboration with Manzo executive chef Arnold Corpuz. Morimoto plans to be at the restaurant on March 5 at 6 p.m. to create gyoza made with Parmigiano Reggiano DOP. The dish remains on the Manzo menu through March 31.
