Every buffet operated by MGM Resorts in Las Vegas plans to close on Sunday in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

That means the Buffet at Aria, Buffet at Bellagio, MGM Grand Buffet, Cravings at the Mirage, Buffet at Luxor, and Buffet at Excalibur close temporarily. “These changes are temporary and will be evaluated on a weekly basis,” MGM Resorts director of media relations Brian Ahern said in a statement.

Employees who work at the buffets will “work directly with MGM’s Labor Relations department to assist with any employment changes, transitions or questions as part of the temporary Buffet closure process,” 8 News Now reports.

The news station says that other resorts report deep cleaning operations to stymie the spread of novel coronavirus.

The Southern Nevada Health District reported the first presumptive positive case of coronavirus with one man in his 50s testing positive in Las Vegas on March 5, and a second person tested with a presumptive positive case on Sunday. Washoe County, which includes Reno, also has two cases of coronavirus. All remain under quarantine.
