Former president of nightlife at MGM Resorts International Sean Christie plans to create his own hospitality company, with new venues launching in 2021. The company will include hotels, restaurants, lounges, and maybe some nightclubs, but they will be just one component. Christie wants to bring up to 10 nightlife executives into his unnamed company.
Christie helped MGM Resorts create On The Record at the Park MGM with Jonnie and Mark Houston out of Los Angeles, Mama Rabbit at the Park MGM with Bricia Lopez of La Guelaguetza in Los Angeles, and Mayfair Supper Club at the Bellagio before he left the company in late March.
Previously, Christie was the executive vice president of business development for Wynn Resorts as well as the chief operating officer and the vice president of operations at Wynn Las Vegas. He owned Las Vegas Nightlife Group and was the managing partner of Encore Beach Club, Surrender Nightclub, and Andrea’s at Encore Las Vegas.
Christie tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he’s reaching out to resorts on the Strip, and “he’s not ruling out doing business with his previous employers, Wynn and MGM Resorts.”
