A new diner at the Las Vegas Motor Resort near Blue Diamond Road opens amid the coronavirus pandemic. Johnny C’s Diner from chef John Church debuted with a menu of breakfast and lunch fare.
Church tells the Las Vegas Reviews-Journal that he signed the lease two weeks before Gov. Steve Sisolak mandated that all nonessential businesses including dine-in restaurants needed to close on March 17.
His new diner at the RV park offers breakfast and lunch for takeout service. Bacon-stuffed pancakes, creme brulee French toast, and omelets and burritos stuffed with avocado, ham, or chicken sausage are served until 11 a.m. Lunch brings pressed burgers and sandwiches such as pulled pork, a Reuben, and fried chicken.
Church, a veteran chef who worked at restaurants such as Aureole, Andre’s, Alize, RM Seafood, Eiffel Tower Restaurant, and as the corporate executive chef for Golden Entertainment, plans to add dinner and patio service once restaurants can reopen for full service.
Johnny C’s Diner, 8175 Arville St., 702-263-0146. Open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
