A new tequila and mezcal bar gets ready to open on Fremont East. Lucky Day Tequila & Mezcal House plans to open on Friday, July 3, with a 3,000-square-foot bar replacing Vanguard Lounge. The bar with room for 103 specializes in small-batch tequilas and rare mezcal.
Ryan Doherty, owner of Commonwealth, Park on Fremont, and the under construction Cheapshot and We all Scream, is behind the new bar with a deejay booth created from a salvaged church pulpit, a dance floor, Latin music, and a menu with house-made tortilla chips and an assortment of signature salsa and guacamole selections.
Overhead, the bar features a canopy of 15,000 programmable LED lights that highlight art on the ceiling. The space features two pieces from Bob Dob out of Southern California.

Doherty also has Cheap Shot tavern and We All Scream on the way, taking over the former Beauty Bar and Don’t Tell Mama spaces. The combined 8,000-square-foot venue plans to have a 2,063-square-foot outdoor seating area in the rear of the property.
