Allegiant Stadium, the $1.84 billion domed stadium under construction next to 1-15 and Russell Road, will include a betting lounge, a first for an NFL stadium. The future home of the Las Vegas Raiders and UNLV’s football team features MGM Club with a full-service bar, luxury lounge, and stadium seating, Sports Illustrated reports.

The magazine talked to Chris Halpin, chief strategy and growth officer for the NFL, who said that now stadiums in locations that allow sports gambling can offer betting lounges and mobile betting options.

MGM Resorts became the official gaming partner of the Las Vegas Raiders on January 23. The partnership also gives MGM Resorts the rights to exclusive fan experiences before and after Raiders home games at its resorts.

The NFL still doesn’t allow physical betting windows inside stadiums, but betting lounges with mobile betting options are permitted. The NFL allows teams to partner with a sportsbook as a sponsor. In January 2019, Caesars Entertainment became the NFL’s first official casino sponsor, but that deal did not including gambling. ESPN reports that teams have accepted casino sponsorships for years, but without sports betting.

If the NFL season moves forward, the Raiders play their first home game in the stadium on September 21, a Monday night bout against the New Orleans Saints.
