CHINATOWN — Partage launches a French wine club with an introduction dinner on August 20. Participants can buy a month-to-month membership for $99 for two people, or an annual membership for $999 per couple. Participants receive two different French wines or Champagnes monthly. In August, selections include Chardonnay Louis Jadot Meursault 2013 and Pinot Noir Louis Jadot Nuits-Saint-Georges 2016. Wine club members also receive a preferred price on cases of wines of the month, discounted tickets to the monthly wine presentation dinner, access to monthly exclusive limited deals on French wines, and free consulting to help build a cellar with a curated selection of French wines. The first dinner features a five-course tasting menu with seatings from 5 to 5:30 p.m. and 8 to 8:30 p.m. for $80 or $70 per person for wine club members. An optional wine pairing is $40. The dinner starts with an amuse bouche of sweet pea and fava bean chilled soup with strawberries; lobster carpaccio, coconut cream, mango sorbet, and lime zest; white fish with potato, black garlic, and parsley; Iberico pork secreto with figs, smoked eel, and eggplant; and Paris Brest with a praline cream puff, praline ice cream, and caramelized hazelnuts. DOWNTOWN — Able Baker Brewing Co. holds a virtual beer tasting on August 15 for $20 for a four-pack of beer and access to the live event or $38 for a four pack, access to the live event, a charcuterie plate from Arts District Kitchen, three stickers, a 9-ounce branded Able Baker glass, and a rubber duck. THE GRAMERCY — DW Bistro moved its pop-up, Dining With Guest Chef Series, that features chefs from restaurants that are either still shut down, have limited hours, or whose projects have been delayed, to August 22 with Lanny Chin. The Chopped champion formerly worked at The Slanted Door at the Forum Shops at Caesars and Greene St. Kitchen and Apex Social Club at the Palms. His meal includes family-style starters such as pork belly bao buns and Chin family eggrolls; kimchi-braised osso bucco and whole fried rockfish; and desserts such as the Thai chili brownie and a white chocolate truffle milkshake.
