Carson Kitchen Rolls Out a New Brunch With Sopaipilla French Toast and Oxtail Hash

Plus Bardot Brasserie adds happy hour and Bazaar Meat has a new general manager

DOWNTOWN — Fremont East darling Carson Kitchen adds brunch to its dining lineup on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The restaurant adds dishes such as an oatmeal brûlée, avocado toast, and a Spam Benedict, as well as the B.E.C. with pork belly, an over easy egg, white cheddar, herb mayo, and arugula; sopaipilla French toast with Thai chili maple syrup; and oxtail hash. Southern staples shrimp and grits and chicken and waffle round out the menu. Brunch-worthy cocktails include The Dude Abides with citrus vodka, almond milk, cold brew liqueur, and orange bitters and That’s My Jam, a classic bloody mary made with bacon jam vodka and fresh lime. ARIABardot Brasserie brings back happy hour with a menu from the restaurant’s new executive chef Nick Dugan. Every Wednesday through Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 5 to 10 p.m. the French restaurant from Michael Mina serves a beef Wellington hot dog, pāté melt, roasted chicken wings, and oeufs mimosa with four deviled eggs, smoked paprika, cocktail onion, and cornichon. SAHARA — Edgar Sanchez is the new general manager of Bazaar Meat by José Andrés, where he will oversee operations for the Eater 38 restaurant. Sanchez joins with nearly a decade of culinary industry experience including holding senior-level roles with ThinkFoodGroup, the company behind chef José Andrés’ group of restaurants. Most recently, Sanchez served as manager in training for ThinkFoodGroup’s Jaleo, as well as senior beverage manager for China Poblano at the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas.
