After three-and-a-half years in Spring Valley, Elia Authentic Greek Taverna closed its Durango Drive restaurant and will reopen later this week, two miles to the north, inside the former home of Chef Marc’s Trattoria.
Scheduled to debut on Friday, September 18, the 2,527-square-foot corner space sits close to intersection of Sahara Avenue and Durango Drive at the Lakeside Village Plaza and includes the option of creating a future outdoor patio.
Managed by Savvas Georgiadis and Alexandros Gkikas, Elia specializes in traditional Greek dishes and a commitment to quality ingredients. During the last few months Elia has been offering takeout options and reduced its nightly dinner service to 4 to 9 p.m., but has yet to update its future opening hours, or reveal when its regular lunch program might return.
Marc Sgrizzi had occupied the venue since 2015 before relocating close to the Strip earlier this year and moving into a second-floor space inside the non-gaming Ahern Hotel, formerly the Lucky Dragon casino. Re-branded as Chef Marc’s Italian Steakhouse, the restaurant is currently open Tuesday to Sunday from 4:30 to 9 p.m., for both dinner and takeout.
