Consider Area15 an adult playground with experiences spanning large-scale artwork and a futuristic grocery store to a stroll through a neon-bedecked forest or a ride bringing a birdlike view of the world. Along the way, food and drink that match the bill.
The 200,000-square-foot complex includes a number of pieces of art, virtual reality experiences, and more dining and drinks rolling out through early 2021.
The experience partially opened on September 17 with a limited number of attractions, including ice cream from Boston-based Emack & Bolio’s, which makes its Las Vegas debut with yogurt, homemade fudge and chocolate, micro-brewed sodas, vegan selections, and more. Oddwood from Corner Bar Management’s Ryan Doherty arrived with a nearly 23-foot-high Japanese maple tree built by Color + Light decorated with more than 5,000 twinkling LED lights. Oddwood serves beers and cocktails. Meanwhile, the Beast pop-up food experience takes over Area15’s outdoor event space, surrounded by sculptures and art cars.
In November, Museum Fiasco debuted from Corner Bar Management with 5,000 square feet of futuristic exhibits.
Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart, a grocery store with zany items for sale, just opened, as did Emporium Bar & Arcade, The Beast Food Hall by Todd English, and Dueling Axes. Lost Spirits Distillery is still on the way. Still more tenants plan to come on board in the months to come.
