A new tea room celebrates all things that go along with British high tea. The Tea Terrace opened south of the 215 Beltway on Rainbow Boulevard with decadent treats to go along with kettles of tea. Big hats and frilly fans are optional but encouraged.

The indoor garden setting features tables with mismatched floral chairs, daintily painted teacups, saucers, and teapots, and an Instagram-worthy flower wall, as well as a collection of hats and fans.

Customers can go big with the $38 king’s tea served with Norwegian salmon finger sandwiches, English cucumber sandwiches, tarragon egg sandwiches, avocado toast, lingonberry chicken sandwiches, crepes with caviar, assorted petite desserts, and cookies surrounding fresh seasonal fruits on a three-tiered cake stand.

Prices go down from there, with a vegan option and child’s version for $19 available. Organic pots of tea span English breakfast and masala chai to matcha and green oolong.

Call 702-931-0562 to book a table in advance.

The Tea Terrace, 6830 S. Rainbow Boulevard, 702-931-0562. Open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
