Breakfast All Day From a Food Network and ‘Bar Rescue’ Regular Opens for Dine-In Service

Vic “Vegas” Moea opens the dining room for his second Las Vegas restaurant with Black & Blue Diner on South Decatur Boulevard north of Alta Drive. Moea, whose resume includes appearances on Food Network shows and Bar Rescue, already has Sinful Subs, formerly 7 Sinful Subs, a Fort Apache Road and Reno Avenue.

“This has been a dream for a long time and even though the pandemic tried to steer us away, we persevered,” Moea says in a press statement. “We decided to focus on the positive, to keep our construction team working, to employ a staff of six and to provide goodwill meals to those on the front line including health-care workers, first responders, and teachers.”

The self-trained Moea teamed up with Rose Tummarello to bring a menu of all-day breakfast, lunch, dinner, vegan dishes, and desserts. The two opened the restaurant in November for takeout and delivery only, serving free meals to first responders for two months. The dining room features plexiglass, spacing between the tables, extra height on booth backs, and additional cleaning, while takeout and delivery use safe-sealed packaging.

The menu leans heavily on breakfast dishes and burgers. Country-fried New York features a breaded and fried New York strip steak with house country gravy, while a New York classic breakfast sandwich, French toast waffle, and huevos taquitos are among the house specials. Diners can build their own omelets or choose from a roster of Benedicts. Burgers and chicken sandwiches and classic diner fare such as liver and onions as well as a tuna sandwich and patty melt make the all-day dinner menu. Vegan dishes include riffs with plant-based egg dishes, a chicken Philly sandwich with plant-based chicken, and a toasted Caprese, among others.

Moea appeared on shows such as the Next Food Network Star, Food Network Challenge, Big Bash Catering Competition, and Food Network Food Truck Face off. He appears on Bar Rescue as an expert chef.
