Promoting itself as the only Las Vegas destination where customers can order Japanese dishes and boba drinks from the comfort of their car, the Anime Boba Cafe is now open daily in Henderson. The restaurant replaces a former Felipito’s Mexican Food outpost, initially only offering drive-thru service. The cafe planned to launch its dining room on opening day, before staffing and food supply issues pivoted its focus solely to drive-thru service for the immediate future.
Created by the operators of Tom Yum Thai Kitchen inside the Galleria at Sunset’s food court, the new restaurant’s design, logos, and artwork are all inspired by Japanese animation and is easy to find at 1680 W. Sunset Road, a mile west from the mall. Until the main dining room opens, Anime Boba Cafe serves a pared down menu with miso ramen, curry rice with fried chicken, a teriyaki chicken bowl, the chashu-don bowl with fatty pork, or a gyu-don beef bowl. For dessert, the menu features Japanese crepes or tiramisu. Beverage options include Okinawa brown sugar, strawberry, and taro milk teas, plus smoothies, coffees, frappuccinos, and fruit teas. A future opening date for the interior space has not been revealed.
