Before it even debuts at the Venetian's Grand Canal Shoppes, Midtown Manhattan’s Zeppola Italian Bakery already has plans for a second Las Vegas expansion. Still under construction on the resort’s replica of St. Marks Square, the cafe will replace the former home of French-inspired chain Paris Baguette. Designed by locals GT/AD Studio, the two-level bakery will be upgraded with a small bar on the main floor and a casual dining space upstairs. The architects are also behind the retro-styled vibe of the eagerly anticipated Tacos El Gordo being built across Sunset Road from Town Square.
The East Coast’s Numero 28 restaurant group created the bakery that plans to offer many takeout and dine-in items from the original New York menu, including Italian sandwiches and pasta dishes, fruit tarts, cakes, cookies, bombalone, cannoli, and zeppole pastries, plus La Colomba sweet artisanal bread.
Early paperwork also confirms a second Zeppola cafe is headed to the Fashion Show mall. Yet to reveal a precise spot, the submitted construction budget of $150,000 is similar to estimates provided for the Venetian remodel.
