A new music venue headed to the Arts District imports an “elegant dive bar vibe” and a decade of success booking national touring acts in Austin, Texas. Harvey Graham, who operates Downtown’s Oddfellows on the ground floor of the Ogden condominium tower, will oversee Swan Dive when it opens. Graham is well-known in Austin as a nightlife entrepreneur for his Barbarella bar and the original Swan Dive space, a fixture on Red River Street since 2012.
The Las Vegas location heads to the second floor of The Colorado, a still under construction, mixed-use building at 1301 S. Main Street. Swan Dive’s 5,583-square-foot interior will be upgraded with a 3,952-square-foot outdoor viewing deck. The main bar area will serve customers indoors and out, with patio seating looking down on both Main Street and Colorado Avenue.
The venue plans to keep long, daily hours from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. with an interior imagined as a “vintage, dilapidated speakeasy,” an echo of the white and gray color-scheme at the Texas location, frequently hired for photography and video shoots.
Yet to reveal an estimated debut date, plans submitted to the City of Las Vegas do not include a kitchen facility.
