A relaxed spot for wine and small plates debuts from locally revered sommelier, chef, and restaurateur Bank Atcharawan. The man behind Eater 38 member Lamaii revamped the Patio Desserts & Drinks into Patio Wine Garden, a garden-themed wine bar, on Decatur Boulevard.
Diners can expect to find an extended range of natural wine as well as Champagne, Riesling, and Burgundy, as well as craft beers, sake, and wine-based cocktails. On the small plates side of the menu, Thai and Asian influences dominate the list. Atcharawan teased some of his menu items such as carnitas panang with slow-cooked pork shoulder in coconut milk and panang curry served with fried roti bread; a fried quail egg with bacon drizzle and tamarind sauce, served with Japanese milk bread toast; and Uncle Bank’s fried chicken that uses Cornish hen marinated in secret spices. The menu also offers charcuterie and cheeses.
Atcharawan also expands Lamaii to a new location in Henderson on St. Rose Parkway. Lamaii Modern Eatery fills the 2,800-square-foot suite 150 at the Gardner Plaza retail center, next door to Padrino’s Latin Bar & Grill and a short walk from BurgerFi and the similar-sized breakfast and brunch restaurant Scrambled. The location promises a 750-square-foot outdoor patio facing the parkway, plus Atcharawan will apply his sommelier skills to curate an affordable new wine list.
Patio Wine Bar, 5255 S. Decatur Boulevard, Suite 107, 702-433-4301. Hours to come.
