After moving back its opening date twice, Virgin Hotels hopes a third date will stick. Richard “Boz” Bosworth, the president and CEO of JC Hospitality, which owns Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, now says the renovated resort opens on Thursday, March 25.
Since last year in February, the resort has been renovating the former Hard Rock Hotel with more than 1,500 rooms and suites, a 60,000-square-foot casino operated by Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, a five-acre pool complex with an event lawn, a live music and entertainment theater with room for 4,500, and 12 food and beverage outlets.
Dining options include the return of Todd English’s Olives, Kris Yenbamroong’s Los Angeles Thai gem Night + Market, the legendary sushi restaurant Nobu, Michael and David Morton’s One Steakhouse, Kassi Beach Club from restaurateur Nick Mathers, the Mexican restaurant Casa Calavera by Hakkasan Group, as well as the sports entertainment, daylife, and nightlife venue Money, Baby! from Clive Collective. Other outlets include Afters Ice Cream, Pizza Forte by the Ferraro family, and Virgin Hotels restaurants and bars including The Kitchen at Commons Club, The Bar at Commons Club, The Shag Room at Commons Club, and Funny Library Coffee Shop.
This week, the resort installed a new marquee at the corner of Harmon and Paradise roads outfitted with large video screens. Overhead, the Virgin Hotels name now sits atop the hotel towers in bold red letters offset by the blue of the windows.
