Boldly planning to debut 20 Golden Chick restaurants around the region, the Texas-based parent company tipped the second Las Vegas location for the fried chicken specialists.

Revealed last fall as headed to the southeast corner of Martin Luther King Boulevard and West Carey Avenue, Golden Chick’s next expansion will be constructed at the intersection of Lamb and Lake Mead boulevards in Sunrise, a mile from fast-casual rival KFC and neighborhood fixture The Hush Puppy.

Yet to update progress on either venture, developer Chris Aslam’s original plans for the built-from-scratch MLK site included a drive-thru and room for 54 diners inside.

Launched in 1967 and now surpassing 192 restaurants across five states, Golden Chick is aggressively building its name recognition and stated ambition to reach 500 national restaurants by 2030.

On the future menu, the house specialty of fried chicken pieces and tenders prepared with a secret marinade and batter mix, plus roast chicken plates, Southern fried catfish, chicken sandwiches, salads, and sides of hot yeast rolls, corn nuggets, fried okra, green beans, and mac and cheese.
