Money, Baby!, the new sports venue opening at Virgin Hotels on March 25, partnered with Food Network star Beau MacMillan, who becomes the culinary director for the indoor and outdoor venue. MacMillan oversees culinary operations for Money, Baby!’s full-service restaurant, pairing his passion for fresh ingredients with the belief that food should be simple and delicious.
Money, Baby!, from industry veteran and co-founder Justin Massei and Clive Collective, brings a space for watching sports, betting, interactive games, food, and cocktails set in a funky mid-century style. The indoor and outdoor patios merge with the resort’s pools.
MacMillan, the host of Worst Cooks in America and judge on Guy Fieri’s Guy’s Grocery Games, appeared on Iron Chef America, where he defeated Bobby Flay, The Next Iron Chef, The Best Thing I Ever Made, The Best Thing I Ever Ate, and Beat the Chefs.
“When I heard about the concept, combining great food and beverage with sports and nightlife, I was sold,” MacMillan says in a press statement. “I’m a huge sports fan, and have cooked at Taste of the NFL, representing the Arizona Cardinals.”
MacMillan, a native of Plymouth, Massachusetts, retains his job as the executive chef of Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa in Paradise Valley, Arizona, and will continue to oversee its restaurant Elements as he has since it opened in 1998. He previously worked as sous chef at Hotel Bel-Air, Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica, California, and La Vieille Maison in Boca Raton, Florida. The Johnson & Wales University grad trained under chef François de Mélogue, who specializes in simply prepared Southern French-inspired cuisine. In 2017, MacMillan created Nirvana, the food and wine festival at Sanctuary featuring celebrity chef friends throughout the multi-day event.
