THE STRIP — The Drew, the 75 percent finished resort on the north end of the Strip, has new owners. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that original developer Jeffrey Soffer reacquired the 60-story resort that once planned to become Fontainebleu through a “deed in lieu of foreclosure.” The Koch Industries’ real estate arm teamed with Soffer’s Florida-based Fontainebleau Development to buy the Drew Las Vegas project, valued at nearly $615.5 million. CIRCUS CIRCUS — Blue Iguana, the Mexican restaurant with souvenir beverages and cocktails, reopened at the resort with new dishes such as pork carnitas or carne asada platters, menudo, homemade tamales, and Mexican street corn. Souvenir cocktails feature coronitas, margaritas, and bottled beverages. Blue Iguana is open Fridays from 4 to 11 p.m. and and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. [EaterWire]
HENDERSON — Cadence, the 2,200-acre planned community, now has a food truck booking program to schedule dates. So far, Guido Pie, The Dapper Doughnut, and Love Me Foods are on the books with food trucks new to Cadence slated to begin serving in the coming weeks. Those food trucks that register may be considered for future events such as the DeCadence food festival and the Cadence Summer Soirée concert series. Vendors can apply online. [EaterWire]
