A generous portion of Aloha spirit will soon debut in Henderson, replacing the substantial 7,084-square-foot Rusty Putter Lounge with a Hawaiian fusion bar and restaurant.
Upgraded with a new surf and beach design theme, 9th Island LV is leasing the space from Rusty Putter’s owner Carl Fronabarger at 891 DeMarco Drive, a mile from Lake Las Vegas and across E. Lake Mead Parkway from the Mountainside Restaurant & Tavern.
The Hawaiian restaurant is refinishing the floors to inspire memories of sand and breaking waves and installing bubbling water behind the large bar serving Kona Brewing Co. beer. Colorful floral decor now covers 9th Island LV’s walls and bathrooms. Current plans include scheduling live entertainment, performed on a corner stage for as many as 98 indoor customers as well as five gaming machines.
The restaurant has not revealed the full Polynesian and Hawaiian menu, but has been testing its huli huli chicken recipes on two outdoor grills. Future opening hours have not been revealed.
