A new bakery moving into the Grand Canal Shoppes imports an appropriately Italian-inspired sweet and savory menu to the Venetian’s casual dining scene.
New York’s Zeppola Italian Bakery replaces an unnamed, empty bakery space, taking advantage of the original occupant’s construction overhaul. French bakery Paris Baguette on the resort’s replica of St. Marks Square at the Grand Canal Shoppes remains vacant since shuttering early last year, but Zeppola did not offer a precise location at the shopping mall.
Launching in 2020, Midtown Manhattan’s Zeppola Bakery is a side-project of the Numero 28 restaurant group, operators of five Neapolitan-style pizzerias in New York, one in Miami Beach, and an expansion in Austin, Texas.
On the East Coast, Zeppola awaits restrictions to lift before returning to regular full service, but its current delivery and takeout menu includes spinach, egg, and cheese focaccia, square slices of pizza, sandwiches, bombalone, cannoli, and namesake zeppole pastries, plus a range of hot and cold beverages.
An estimated debut date has not be revealed.
