An ode to Mexico City’s historic pedestrian mall Madero Street brings street tacos to Fremont East. Madero Street Tacos opened in the former Santos Guisados Tacos & Beer space on Carson Avenue with Mexican fare from executive chef Francisco Alvarez. So far, the restaurant only serves takeout and delivery, but a few tables outside the restaurant can accommodate those who want to dine as soon as they pick up their orders,
Street tacos take center stage, with versions stuffed with asada, pollo, carnitas, shrimp, fish, and more coming with three to an order with rice and beans starting at $13. Burritos come stuffed with similar proteins while a wet version is smothered in red chili sauce. Diners can order a la carte tacos, as well as chips and guacamole.
The restaurant also hosts two ghost kitchens: Clevelanders Hamburgers with Midwestern comfort foods such as a catfish platter and meatloaf sandwich, and El Gallo Breakfast Burritos. Coming soon, Nanjing Noodles.
Madero Street Tacos, 616 E. Carson Ave., Suite #140, 725-204-6969. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Online ordering and delivery available.
